MN Fishing Lakes is free to use. To pay for hosting and the time it takes to keep lake and bait-shop data current, some pages — mainly the "Gear to grab before you go" blocks on bait shop and live-bait pages — contain affiliate links.

If you click one of those links and buy something from Bass Pro Shops, Cabela's, Amazon, or another retailer, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price is the same whether you use our link or not.

What it doesn't change

• Which shops are listed, or their order. Listings come from the Minnesota DNR license-agent list and Google business records; no shop pays to be here (in v1 there are no paid placements at all).
• Which bait or gear we suggest. The species → bait calendar is written by hand from Minnesota fishing experience, not from what pays best.
• Lake data. Depths, species, landings and survey numbers come straight from the DNR.

How you can tell

Every block that contains affiliate links has a one-line disclosure directly above it, and the links are marked rel="sponsored" for search engines. Shop phone numbers, websites and directions links are never affiliate links.
